Faith That Moves Mountains
I have been reflecting on the profound meaning of the phrase "have faith to move mountains." It seems to me that the mountains we encounter are often the personal burdens we carry each day – the pain of loss, the weight of our imperfections, the struggles with depression, animosity, inequality, and a multitude of other difficulties.
It is through our faith in our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, that we gain the strength to surmount these challenges. In times of adversity, we find solace in His reassuring words, as recorded in Matthew 11:28-29: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."
Each day presents us with trials that we should face with unwavering faith, knowing that the Savior's support and invitation are extended to all. However, as James 2:26 reminds us, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." Our belief must be accompanied by action.
It is my sincere prayer that each day, as we face our respective hardships, we will actively exercise our faith in the Lord with all our heart, might, and mind.
