A PRAYER FOR STRENGTH
A PRAYER FOR STRENGTH
Reflecting upon the journey of life, with its diverse paths and inevitable challenges, I am reminded of the constant support we receive in moments of need. The Book of Mormon offers profound insight through the experience of Alma, who sought strength from the Lord rather than deliverance from his trials. Similarly, as we navigate our own adversities, it is my sincere hope that we may all turn to the Lord and petition for the fortitude to patiently endure the difficulties that life presents.
In Alma chapter 31, verse 31, we read, "O Lord, my heart is exceedingly sorrowful; wilt thou comfort my soul in Christ. O Lord, wilt thou grant unto me that I may have strength, that I may suffer with patience these afflictions which shall come upon me, because of the iniquity of this people." Furthermore, verse 38 states, "And the Lord provided for them that they should hunger not, neither should they thirst; yea, and he also gave them strength, that they should suffer no manner of afflictions, save it were swallowed up in the joy of Christ. Now this was according to the prayer of Alma; and this because he prayed in faith."
These sacred verses serve as a powerful reminder that the Lord extends strength and solace to aid us in overcoming affliction and the inherent challenges of mortal existence. The Lord of Hosts will stand by us. While there are aspects of life's journey that we must traverse individually, God will assist us in these endeavors. Therefore, in times of trial, let us earnestly seek strength, protection, and comfort from God, for He possesses these attributes in abundance and will provide according to our needs.
May the Lord bless each of you as you seek His strength and support during times of trial.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
