FAMILY IS ORDAINED OF GOD
I don't know much about love, However, the love I've received from my grandparents is indescribable - it's the kind of love that flows through family, a gift from God. Many people, including myself, may have said they don't want to get married, but we truly don't understand the beauty of family. The foundation of family was established at the beginning of time when God ordained Adam and Eve as husband and wife. Each of us has the privilege of experiencing this beautiful institution
Understanding Family and Love
The concept of family was established at the beginning of time when God ordained Adam and Eve as husband and wife. This institution is a beautiful expression of love and commitment. As it says in Genesis 1:28, God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it".
The Value of Children
Children are considered a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him (Psalm 127:3-5). The Bible emphasizes the importance of guiding and nurturing children in faith, as seen in Proverbs 22:6, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
Parenting and Discipline
Parenting involves discipline and instruction. According to Proverbs 13:24, "Whoever spares the rod hates their son, but the one who loves their son is careful to discipline them." However, discipline should be balanced with love and wisdom, as Ephesians 6:4 advises, "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."
Family Relationships
The Bible also highlights the significance of family relationships. For example:
- *Honoring Parents*: Children are instructed to obey and honor their parents (Ephesians 6:1-3, Exodus 20:12).
- *Grandchildren*: Grandchildren are seen as a crown to the aged (Proverbs 17:6).
- *Providing for Family*: Believers are encouraged to provide for their relatives and household (1 Timothy 5:8).
God's Love for Children
Jesus showed great love and affection for children, welcoming them and blessing them (Mark 10:13-16). The Bible reminds us that God values children and wants us to receive the kingdom of God like a child (Matthew 18:2-5).
